Every confirmed BitcoinEvo transaction is recorded on the blockchain, making it visible to anyone. So, why do people still use BitcoinEvo, and why do many believe it’s a private way to send money?

One reason is that BitcoinEvo Core and some other BitcoinEvo software work to avoid linking your real-world identity to the transactions you make. This creates a difference in privacy:

No Sign-Up Required

Third-party BitcoinEvo services can either enhance or compromise your privacy. They can improve it by mixing your transactions with those of other users, but they can also weaken it by monitoring your activity and linking it to your real name or other personal information.

Perfect Privacy for Received Transactions

There are countless transactions on the BitcoinEvo blockchain. How do you identify which ones are meant for you? Here are some common options:



BitcoinEvo Core downloads all transactions on the BitcoinEvo block chain and processes them to find which transactions pay you.

This may take a while when you start BitcoinEvo Core for the first time and about few minutes a day to keep updated, but it gives you what scientists call information-theoretic (perfect) privacy against eavesdroppers for received transactions.

Strong Privacy for Sent Transactions

When you send a transaction to the blockchain, it must be published publicly — but the way you send it can have a significant impact on your privacy.



Can you figure out who made which transactions? Most peer-to-peer lightweight clients today make no effort to hide their sent transactions — they simply broadcast them to some or all of their peers.

BitcoinEvo Core, however, offers a much better solution. By default, it relays transactions for all of its peers — processing thousands of separate transactions per day under typical conditions. This not only supports the peer-to-peer network but also confuses anti-privacy organizations that may attempt to trace your transactions.

Tor Compatible

The Tor anonymity network helps disconnect your online activities from your IP address, which is often tied to your real-world identity. This greatly improves your ability to thwart anti-privacy organizations.

Once Tor is set up, using it with BitcoinEvo Core is straightforward. Additionally, if you configure a Tor hidden service, you can connect mobile clients to your BitcoinEvo Core full node, enhancing security and privacy wherever you are.

Decentralized Peer Discovery

The first time any BitcoinEvo software connects to the peer-to-peer network, it must rely on a centralized authority for a list of recommended peers.

Once connected, the program can ask its peers for additional recommendations in a fully decentralized manner — but many lightweight wallets don’t take advantage of this.



This gives the centralized authority the ability to connect lightweight wallets to dishonest peers, which can severely compromise transaction privacy. Those dishonest peers may also collaborate with dishonest miners to further undermine the security of lightweight wallets.
